Fort Valley State University has an applied agriculture education program that offers undergraduate students an opportunity to complete part of their degree requirements via online courses and video conferencing distance learning.

Fort Valley State University’s Agricultural Education Program prepares graduates for careers such as teachers, extension agents, farm managers, processing plant managers, agricultural chemical salespersons, farmers, ranchers and government agency positions.

FSVU-wildcatOur facility includes an agriscience and technology teaching lab, wood and metals lab, and small engines lab that have helped students to pass Teacher Certification Exams. Transfer students from nine colleges and universities in Georgia have completed agriculture degrees and obtained their teacher certification by taking online courses at Fort Valley State University. Some transfer students take lectures online and come to campus to complete lab assignments.

Agriculture education majors earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture with Teacher Certification. Graduates of the Agricultural Education Program at Fort Valley State University will find ample opportunities for employment. There are always more jobs available than graduates.

If you like FFA you will like being part of the Agricultural Education Program at Fort Valley State University. Our students help to conduct FFA leadership and career development events attended by over 700 high school and middle school students each year. The Central Region Agriculture Education and FFA Office is located on the Fort Valley State University Campus.
